Revi Karunakaram was a patron of the coir industry. Over the years he created a fine collection of art which is now housed in a museum which opened in 2006. Besides the backwater cruise you can make a visit to this museum. The 2 hours seeing what's on display is well worth it.

Timings of Revi Karunakaram Memorial Museum: 9 am to 2 pm on all days except Mondays and Public Holidays.

From Quilon, that is an hour from Trivandrum, you can take the ferry to Allepey.
